Privacy Policy
Last updated October 6, 2026
This policy covers Sorta Hearts for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and the website sortafun.com. Both are made by sortafun, a brand of Red Mercury, LLC (“we”, “us”).
The short version: we don’t collect any information about you. Sorta Hearts has no accounts of its own, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we don’t run any server that the app talks to.
What stays on your device
Sorta Hearts saves these on your device so the game works:
- the game in progress, so you can pick up on the same card;
- your scores, statistics and record of past games;
- your settings, including any name you type for yourself;
- a log of the games you play (the cards dealt, passed and played);
- which table-talk lines you’ve already seen, so they aren’t repeated;
- if you play online, a record of your online games, including the Game Center names and player identifiers of the people at your table, so the app can show your results and who you’ve played.
We never receive any of it. You can erase your record of games against the computer at any time
with Settings → Advanced → Clear Stats; scores already sent to Game Center (below)
stay there. Deleting the app from an iPhone or iPad deletes all of it. On a Mac it is kept in the
app’s own folder (~/Library/), which you can delete
after removing the app.
Game Center
Online play, leaderboards and achievements use Game Center, Apple’s gaming service. Signing in is optional, and everything else in the app works without it.
When you’re signed in, the scores and achievements you earn in solo and online games, such as your wins against the computer players, your ratings and your badges, are sent to Game Center, where other players may see them, for example on the leaderboards.
When you play online:
- your Game Center name, your moves and any quick-chat phrases you choose are sent through Apple to the other players at your table (quick chat is a fixed list of phrases; there is no typing);
- your Game Center player identifier is used on your device to keep each account’s online record separate.
Apple provides Game Center and handles this information under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We don’t receive or store it on any server.
Table talk
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, the computer players’ remarks are chosen by Apple’s on-device model from lines we wrote. That happens entirely on your device, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Apple’s App Store
To tell whether it is a TestFlight test copy, the app asks Apple’s App Store for its own install record. That request goes to Apple, and nothing from it comes to us.
Feedback you send us
If you email us, or use Send Feedback in a TestFlight test copy of the app, we receive what you send: your email address, your message and, for Send Feedback, the app version, your device model and system version, where you were in the app, and your game log. You see the email before it is sent, and nothing is sent unless you send it. We use it only to answer you and to fix problems. We don’t share or sell it, we keep it only as long as we need it for that, and we will delete it whenever you ask.
Other companies
Apart from Apple, as described above, no other company receives information from the app. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking software. Apple protects the information it handles under its own privacy policy.
Children
Sorta Hearts doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
This website
sortafun.com sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability.
Your choices and requests
Because the information the app keeps stays on your device, you control it: change it in the app, erase it with Clear Stats, or delete the app. To ask about, or ask us to delete, anything you’ve sent us by email, write to [email protected]. For information Apple holds about your Game Center account, visit privacy.apple.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
